Technical Diving

PADI TecRec courses

“When one tank is not enough!”

Technical diving is scuba diving’s ‘extreme sport’. It is marked by significantly more equipment and training requirements to manage the additional risk this type of diving entails. Requiring more effort, discipline, and equipment, the PADI TecRec range offers challenges, focus and cutting-edge technologies.

You will learn from Master Instructor Jonah who was part of the pioneering of Technical diving in India. Part of the First Technical diving course and Sidemount course run by Steve Lewis and the later on The First PADI technical Diving Instructor program with Jonas Samuelsson.

The benefits of taking the PADI TecRec course include:

  • An integrated course flow that takes you from the beginning to a highly qualified technical diver using different gas mixes
  • Each level introduces you to new gear, planning, and procedures appropriate to your new diving limit.
  • the Tec Deep Diver course is an integrated sequence of three subcourses, Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50. You can complete them continuously, or you can complete each level separately with a time span between them.

PADI Tec 40

techincal divers on the surface before the tec 40 diveThe PADI Tec 40 course is the entry-level course into the technical diving world and provides a transition from recreational diving to technical diving. As a Tec 40 diver, you will be qualified to make dives with up to 10 minutes of decompression, you will also be trained to carry a stage tank with up to 50% nitrox to make your decompression more conservative.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be certified as an advanced open-water diver or higher
  • Need to be Nitrox certified
  • Have to be Deep certified or have proof of 10 dive to 30mt
  • 30 logged dives (10 using nitrox and 7 deeper the 30mt
  • Signed medical by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • Min age: 18 years old.

you will learn:

  • a first look at the theory of technical diving,
  • Dive planning and the use of up to date decompression software to plan your deco dives.
  • Practical sessions were you learn to fine-tune your technical diving gear and how it all goes together.
  • Learn to use 1 decompression gas up to 50% oxygen to accelerate the decompression.
  • Confined water training sessions where you will master a whole new skill set to take you beyond recreational depth limits safely at your own pace.
  • Two open water training dives where you run simulations and master skills before practicing them on a decompression dive.
  • One Open Water decompression dive at one of the deeper sites in the Auroville area not many people get to explore.
  • The cost is Rs. 36,000 Plus GST(18%)

PADI Tec 45

Technical diver in the water in pondicherry lakeAs a Tec 45 diver, you will be trained to go beyond recreational depths to a maximum depth of 45mt You will also be trained to manage longer decompression times and also how to handle one stage cylinder containing oxygen for accelerated decompression.

Prerequisites:

  • Tec 40 certified or Equivalent from another training agency.
  • Must be certified as a Rescue Diver
  • Need 50 dives 12 deeper than 18m using nitrox and 6 deeper than 30mt
  • Signed medical by a physician within the last 12 months
  • Min age: 18 years old.

you will learn:

  • we will expand on the aspects of technical diving we learned in Tec 40 and also learn alot more.
  • Dive planning and the use of up to date decompression software to plan your deco dives.
  • Practical sessions were you learn to fine-tune your technical diving gear and how it all goes together.
  • Learn to use 1 decompression gas up to 100% oxygen to accelerate the decompression.
38,000 Plus GST(18%)

PADI Tec 50

lots of tanks set up for a tecnical diveMaster and perfect your Tec Diving Skills with the Tec 50 Course. This qualification represents a high level of competency for a technical diver.  The diver is qualified to use air for bottom gas and two decompression mixes up to 100% Oxygen to make accelerated decompression dives to a maximum depth limit of 50 mt The skills you learned during your Tec 40 and Tec 45 course will put to the test and finely polished before completing two decompression dives to a maximum depth of 50mt.

Prerequisites :

  • Tec 45 certified or Equivalent from another training agency.
  • Must be certified as a Rescue Diver
  • Need 100 dives logged (20 using nitrox )
  • Signed medical by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • Min age: 18 years old.

you will learn:

  • In-depth theory on all aspects of technical diving,
  • Dive planning and the use of up to date decompression software to plan your deco dives.
  • Practical sessions were you learn to fine-tune your technical diving gear and how it all goes together.
  •  Learn to use 2 decompression gas to accelerate the decompression.
  • Two open water training dives where you will run simulations and master skills  After that you will practicing them on a decompression dive.
  • two Open Water decompression dive at one of the deeper sites in the Auroville area not many people get to explore.
  • The cost is Rs. 40,000 Plus GST(18%)

General Info:

The cost for the Tec 40,45 and 50 combined is Rs. 110,000 Plus GST(18%)
